LANDS OF LORE 4
Lange Zeit blieb es unklar ob es einen vierten Teil geben wird, nun steht die Antwort weiter unten:
Obwohl LOL 3 an einigen Stellen ziemlich versagte, war ein vierter Teil geplant. Ideen wurden schon gesammelt, als LOL 3 noch nicht draußen war, zu der Zeit gehörte Westwood noch zu Virgin. Nun aber als EA Westwood ´99 kaufte, wurde der dritte Teil, auf Grund der Fertigstellung noch heraus gegeben, aber die Entwicklung an Lands of Lore 4 und auch weiteren Spielen, z. B. The legend of Kyrandia wurde eingestellt.
Diese Informationen habe ich aus mehreren Emails von
Westwood Vize President, Louis Castle, dem LOL Storywriter
Rick Gush und dem Lead Designer Jeff Filhaber.

and story, wasn't it?
I'm sending this also to Jeff Filhaber, the guy who was sort of my partner in making the LOL
series, and still one of my good friends. (Hey Jeff, look, more fan mail!) I think we both liked
LOL 2 the best ourselves too! Luther was a great character!
Gee, we'd love to make another LOL, but when Electronic Arts bought Westwood Studios,
they decided to kill the series. (They also killed the Kyrandia comedy adventure series. Wah!) I
think that's one of the big reasons Jeff and I left Westwood. EA is not nearly as much fun as it
was in the old days at Westwood.
But hey, if you're a wealthy heiress, as a matter of fact, Jeff and I could probably be talked
into putting a team together and making LOL 4,5,and 6!
To say that we had all the stories already was a bit of an exaggeration on our friend Lou's
part, but we certainly had talked about some ideas. I'm certain all future LOL's would feature
characters derived from the existing community of characters. I myself was lobbying to have
one game feature Dawn's daughter, and another a Thomgog damsel. Jeff would probably like to
work in some more Egyptian style pre-history and spirituality and more stuff about dogs. Ha!
So, thanks again for writing. Made my day, although I will confess I'm pretty spoiled and have
a great day almost every day!

Danke für deine Email. Es ist schön zu hören von Lands of Lore Fans! Es war schönes cooles Spiel und Story, etwa nicht?
Ich sende das auch zu Jeff Filhaber, der Mann, der einer von meinen Partnern in der LOL Gruppe war und nun einer meiner besten Freunde ist. (Hey Jeff schau mehr Fanmail!) Ich denke wir beide mochten LOL2 das beste von uns auch! Luther war ein großartiger Charakter!
Wir haben gewollt einen weiteren LOL Teil zu machen, aber als EA Westwood kaufte, die enschieden sich die Serie zu killen. (Die killten auch the legend od kyrandy serie. Wah!) Ich denke das ist einer von den Gründen, das Jeff und ich Westwood verließen. EA ist nicht so viel Spaß wie früher bei Westwood.
Aber hey, wenn du ein reicher Erbe bist, in Wirklichkeit, Jeff und ich könnten eine Gruppe zusammentun und LOL 4,5,6 machen!
Zu sagen dass wir hätten die Story war eine kleine Übertreibung von meinem Freund Lou, tatasächlich haben wir über einige Ideen gesprochen. Ich selber habe Dawn´s Tochter und einen anderen Tomgog Damsel vorgeschlagen. Ich bin sicher alle zukünftigen LOL´s hätten diese Charakter.
Jeff wollte über Egypten Spiritually arbeiten und über Hunde. Wah!

Thank you for being such a big fan of the Lands
of Lore series. Unfortunately, we put Lands of
Lore 4 on hold a while back to focus on our tit-
les that were currently under development. We
have so many great games we would love to
make at Westwood but we simply don't have the
resources to do them all. I'm not certain when we might go back to the Lands of Lore series but
for now we have no plans to make another Lands of Lore.
Again, my apologies for any disappointment.

(Danke, dass du solch ein großer Fan bist von der Lands of Lore Saga. Leider, wir stellten LOL 4 an einen Platz, an denen Spiele sind, die unter Entwicklung waren. Wir haben so viele großartige Ideen, die wir gerne bei Westwood machen würden, aber wir haben einfach nicht dei Recousen um alle zu machen. Ich bin nicht sicher wann wir zu LOL zurück gehen könnten, aber für jetzt haben wir keine Pläne für eine Fortsetzung.
